Designed by renowned architect Sir Roy Grounds, The Arts Centre is a compound of theatres and concert halls. It is positioned in the Southgate grounds of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. Construction of the Arts Centre instigated in 1973 following the approval of the master plan for the complex in 1960. However the compound opened at different points. For instance the Hamer Hall opened in 1982 while the Theatres building opened in 1984.

Hamer Hall distinctive building at The Arts Centre was previously known as the Melbourne Concert Hall. The hall can accommodate up to 2661 people and is utilized for orchestral and modern music concerts. Three theatres are housed at the Theatres Building. The State Theatre can accommodate up to 2077 people and boasts one of the biggest stages in the world. The Playhouse which can seat 882 people is mainly used for drama and dance events. The Fairfax Studio which can accommodate up to 376 people is also used for drama and dance events. The Australian Ballet, Opera Australia, the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra and Melbourne Theatre Company are the main companies that perform regularly in the theatres.

The Arts Centre has become a landmark due to its enormous steel spire and wrap-around base. The new spire was constructed in 1996 and is 162 metres tall. It is enlightened with approximately 6,600 metres of optic fibre tubing, 150 metres of neon tubing and 14,000 radiant lamps on the spire’s skirt. The metal web of the spire is inspired by the Eiffel Tower and the billowing of a ballerina’s tutu.

I want to open my own dance studio in the Orange County area. I plan on having 3 studios 2 huge studios with wood floor and then one smaller studio with wood floor. How can i open my own studio.

you’d need to find a place, and see if you’d have the money to start it all up. then find some teachers at dance collages or dance high schools & put out advertisement that there will be a new dance studio opening.

I live in Sheboygan, WI, and want to start ballet this summer. What is the best dance studio in or near Sheboygan?

Are you a beginner or experienced. If you’re experienced there are special summer schools that are kind of hard to get into but you have to be exprerienced to go there.

One example would be Interlochen’s Summe rProgram, but you have to already be experienced, if you’re starting off, you migh thave to go to a smaller studio nearby.

Some have speculated that Paris Hilton may be asking for some advice for her next studio album, which is said to be heavily influenced by the work of dance diva Kylie Minogue. The dance-inspired album is rumored to be the next project of music producer Mike Green, whose recent work includes Paramore’s album. It hasn’t been confirmed which label will be releasing the new album of Paris or when it will hit stores later on.

Although Paris Hilton’s long-time BFF Nicole Ritchie and her hubby Joel Madden (Benji Madden’s brother) were at the same club, Paris chose to leave with Avril. Perhaps this new project of Paris is a result of her recent split with boyfriend Benji Madden. Paris Hilton was recently on the Ryan Seacrest show, where she said, “He’s an incredible person. We’ll always be very close. We’ll see what happens in the future. I’m still in love with him.”

We stumbled across this Pilates video clip on YouTube recently and had to find out the story behind it. It’s clean, crisp and professional—and an exciting example of what’s possible with Pilates. The fast-motion Wunda Chair sequence is especially amazing. It was produced by Louise Taube, a Polestar- and STOTT Pilates-trained studio owner in Melbourne, Australia. We interviewed her via email to get more information about the video.

PP: Why did you make this video?
Louise: For a number of reasons…  I wanted to draw attention to myself and my website www.louisetaube.com, and also to show the world how fun Pilates is and just how many exercises are possible on the equipment.

I used to make dance films, and I really wanted to show the equipment dancing and to bring a fresh perspective to the exercises.

I guess I am interested in reaching as many people as possible with Pilates – it has changed my life and I really want to tell the world about it!

PP: How are you using the video?
Louise: Making the clip was a dare for myself, and also a jumping board for one of my dreams of making Pilates DVDs and selling them to the world.

I guess I wanted to see responses to it and to generate courage for the next step of making a DVD. And now my first DVD is in production and will be available at www.louisetaube.com.  

PP: What has the reaction been to it?
Louise: My clients were impressed and have become more loyal.  Some were awestruck.  I have a few new clients from it and interest from people outside of Australia who would like to do Pilates with me but are a bit too far away!
